The Tower Cafe is a beloved Sacramento restaurant, known for its eclectic and globally-inspired cuisine, as well as its vibrant atmosphere. Decked with rich historical and cultural artifacts, you’ll probably have to make multiple visits to ensure you see every piece. The cafe truly brings all the hearts, minds, and appetites of the city’s diverse population under one roof. To give a new look to the brand, we offered a refresh brand identity, which emerged as a new business system. SKILLS

Bridging Cultures Together
After taking a visit to the Tower Cafe, I was in awe of their decor and how they truly bring the diverse community of Sacramento under one roof. During my visit, one notable aspect was their use of tiles on the columns and the fountain outside. Inspired by this idea, I was able to create a tile-like logo that includes four of the cuisines that Tower Cafe offers: Hispanic, African, and Asian. This flexible new brand identity was extracted and applied to various collateral pieces within a corporate branding system. The patterns and textured paper reflect the antique feeling of decades of rich history that each culture brings to the table and the walls of Tower Cafe. Visitors will also be able to experience the brand through their interactions with the menu and to-go bags.
